FAT BUT HEALTHY? I don’t think so

— Fitness doesn’t cancel obesity’s negative impact on health - research
New research confirms that obesity is bad no matter how frequently you sweat puddles at the gym.
Researchers from the European University in Madrid say study results indicate that “exercise does not seem to compensate for the negative effects of excess weight,” contradicting the popular notion that one can be “fat but healthy.”
Researchers analysed data from over 500,000 adults and grouped people based on activity levels and body weight, evaluating their heart health by assessing three major risk factors for stroke and heart attack – diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.
While physical activity was linked to better heart health, overweight and obese people were just as likely to have high cholesterol, diabetes, and high blood pressure as their normal-weight peers of any activity level.
Exercise more, eat less.
